.Whilst all orders are processed as quickly as possible, please note that we are a very small team, without the logistics of large online retailers!
Orders are dispatched throughout the year, but can be delayed due to weather conditions. We never pack wet plants, and orders often require a few drying days in the greenhouse (or longer in winter months) to ensure safe delivery.
We shall keep you up-to-date with the progress of orders via email. |
Brexit implicationsSince launching our online catalogue in 2014, we have been delighted with the positive response from our European neighbours, and have sent hundreds of orders across Europe, from Estonia and Finland to Portugal, and most places in-between!
However, due to the complete inadequacies of UK governments, past and present, we have been forced to put a hold on all European orders.
We shall update this information as and when we have any further news.
BREXIT UPDATE JANUARY 2021 We are currently unable to send any plants to EU. We are desperately trying to work out what customs legislation we will have to comply with - this is in addition to phyto-sanitory regulations. Our delivery company has advised us that they are currently unable to accept any consignments containing plants. We are hoping to be able to provide a more positive update soon for our dear European customers.
BREXIT UPDATE OCTOBER 2020 Due to Brexit, we are requesting our dear European customers give us their orders by mid-November 2020 to ensure we can safely send them by beginning of December to avoid any delays in transit.
After much discussions with our relevant Scottish Government agency, we hope to be able to continue to send plants to Europe next year - however each order will require a phyto-sanitory certificate. The charge for this will be £25 per order. We plan to request a visit to get our orders inspected on a monthly basis (we are a 3.5hrs drive from the inspectors so it takes a full working day for them to visit us). This will result in a delay in processing and sending orders, but hopefully, given time, we will work out a method! However, there may be additional checks required, depending on the deal, if any, reached with the EU. Given the sheer incompetence of the UK government at this time, who knows what else we will have to do to remain compliant with regulations.
Unfortunately, we are not planning any dispatches to Europe in early 2021, until we can be guaranteed they will reach their destination in good time. It took us a long time and much work to sort our logistics of getting valuable, live plants to across Europe and we would be heartbroken and very frustrated for any orders to get stuck in transit/customs . We are hoping that after some time, there will be a way of sending our plants with a quick delivery time again - we shall keep you updated on this in 2021.
As with many people in the UK, particularly in Scotland, we are devasted with the whole Brexit nonsense - at least half of our online customers are from Europe, and we are very thankful for our new friends from across the EU. Please be assured we are doing everything we can to maintain our links with you!
